Tabling 101

Pride Season is sneaking up quickly, and we’re looking for a dozen or so volunteers to help us spread the word about PFLAG and our enduring Portland chapter.

We’ve already got nine events on our calendar, and we’d like to have both new and familiar faces alongside our board members when we go out and meet the public in and around the Portland metro area.

You can be part of this by participating in a volunteer training session led by Board Treasurer Monica Clark on Wednesday, May 14th at 6pm at Friendly House, 1737 NW 26th Ave, Portland.

“Tabling 101” will cover all the basics: setting up a table at a Pride event, a quick explainer of what’s in our publications, tips for engaging with youth and adults, and telling your own story.

You’ll learn about the brochures and free items we offer to visitors (buttons, mini-flags, stickers) and a short history of PFLAG you can tell in your own words.

All this in an hour-long tutorial where you can ask questions, role play, and sign up for a two-hour tabling shift with a board member or experienced volunteer.

Here’s a calendar of Pride events where we will be participating.
