Annual Meeting and Support Circle – In Person
PFLAG Portland Annual Meeting and In-person Support Circle
Make plans to join us for this year’s In-Person Annual Meeting and Election of Officers and Directors. We will present a slate of candidates to serve a two-year term beginning Aug. 24, 2024, and ending at the 2026 Annual Meeting:
Taborspace
Muir Hall
5441 S.E. Belmont St., Portland
11AM-1PM.
No on-line registration required for this meeting.
The Annual Meeting will take about 15-20 minutes and will be followed by our regular Fourth Saturday Support Circle. As we continue our transition from online-only meetings during Covid, this will be just our third opportunity this year to share concerns and experiences in person. You don’t want to miss it!
As prescribed in our bylaws, only dues-paying members are eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting. You can pay your dues today on our website: https://pflagpdx.org/donate/ Please do so by Aug. 24 if you wish to vote. Please also know you can attend the Annual Meeting and Support Circle without being a dues-paying member. Yearly donations of at least $35 as of the meeting date are required to be eligible to vote.
So, what can you expect at the annual meeting?
Board President George Rede and Board Treasurer Monica Clark will provide annual reports recapping activities and accomplishments of the past 12 months. George and Monica were elected to two-year terms at the August 2023 annual meeting, so they are halfway through their terms ending in 2025.
Five new board members were appointed to open seats since then, so they will now stand for election for two-year terms. Longtime board member Patt Bekken is stepping down from her role as Immediate Past President.
Here are your 2024 Board of Directors candidates:
Ruthie Prasil, Secretary
Karen Krajcer, At Large
Kayla Johnston, At Large
Mike Bishop, At Large
Brenda Kaser, At Large
Each position is for a two-year term beginning Aug. 24, 2024, and ending at the August 2026 annual meeting.
All of these leaders are volunteers that once were new guests at a meeting and who saw in PFLAG a way that they could help make their families and our communities stronger, with more love and more support for all. Please show your respect for their commitment by resolving to attend the Annual Meeting.
