Celebrate the Holigays with PFLAG Portland – Live Event!
Join us as we celebrate the best of the season: our community. Step out of that chat room and meet the new PFLAG board president as well as new and returning board members. Bring a dish to share with fellow LGBTQIA+ friends and allies and a gift for unhoused youth. Make a festive craft with your children, and look out for a special guest appearance. It’s not Santa, but she sure slays!
Collecting donations for organizations that support unhoused youth
According to the Trevor Project, 28% of LGBTQ youth have experienced homelessness or housing instability. Please help us extend our support by donating an unwrapped gift. Your donation may be the only gift they receive this holiday season. See wish lists for specific requests:
Home Plate (Washington County)
Washington County’s only non-profit provider of drop-in centers and street outreach for youth experiencing houselessness.
Outside In (Downtown Portland)
Provides health care and social services for youth experiencing homelessness and other marginalized people, including the LGBTQ+ community.
The Living Room (Clackamas County)
Celebrates and supports LGBTQIA2S+ youth (ages 13-24) with programming and resources, including a safe, harassment-free space.
Parking
Onsite parking is free. Alternative parking lots located at Gabriel Park Playground (SW 42nd Avenue off SW Vermont St.) and near the Gabriel Park Skatepark and Tennis Courts (SW 45th Ave. across from SW Nevada St.). Signage will mark the party entrance.
Potluck
All are encouraged to bring an appetizer, salad, or dessert, but if you are not able to bring food to share, please do not let this stop you from attending. There is always enough! Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
Volunteers
Volunteers needed to help with set-up, greeting attendees, arranging food and gifts, and cleanup. Those who would like to help set-up should arrive by 1:15. The cleanup party will shake it for an extra half hour after the event ends at 4:00. Please email Patt at patt@plfagpdx.org if interested.
